York University is committed to proactively preventing incidents at the workplace. International Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Awareness Day is February 29 (February 28 in non-leap years). Also known as musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), repetitive strain injuries are an umbrella term used to describe a family of painful disorders affecting tendons, muscles, nerves and joints in the neck, upper and lower back, chest, shoulders, arms and hands. In response to RSI Awareness Day, HSEWB is offering two virtual MSD Prevention Events. The drop-in sessions will provide general ergonomic information, and resources available at York University. All employees/faculty are welcome to join a one-hour session presented by HSEWB to learn more about the Ergonomics and MSD Prevention Program at York University. NOTE: You will receive a Zoom meeting invitation one week prior to the session. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact hsewb@yorku.ca.
